Soul food.
Soul magic.
The name
Anam is the Irish word for soul. ANAMANA means soul food, or soul magic: the feeling of a room when the music is doing its job.
We believe that music and sound is food for the soul. We aim to create magic on the dancefloor, bringing people together through our wide selection of nights and talent.
What we're about
In 2023, during the cold nights of winter, Trozy (Troy) and iianö (Ian) approached a local friend, Aodhán McCallum, about holding dub, house and techno nights in his bar, The Cruiskeen Lawn. From that day on, pumping weekly nights were held, including house, techno and vinyl-only nights, gathering a following over time.
More DJs joined the fun. Tribulations held high-energy nights in both Roddens and the Cruiskeen. Joanne, Kynego and Chicago Sean joined the all-dayers at Roddens in Buncrana, banging out housey, disco sounds.
The peak hit in the summer of 2025, with all-day events outside in the blazing sun, entertaining hundreds of eager dancers (even during power failures) 😎🪩💜
A big THANK YOU has to go to Gerard C and Sophie Blake-Gallagher for supporting local DJ talent over the past 10 years.
Looking forward to more shenanigans in 2026/2027.
