Back to 2001 at Drumsheds
Bugged Out rebuilds its electroclash years across three rooms of a former IKEA in north London. Dylan from Tribulations and myself are going.

On Saturday 10 October, Bugged Out takes over Drumsheds for a day and night built around one year: 2001. Dylan from Tribulations and myself are going. We'll fill you in later about how it went.
Bugged Out has been running for more than thirty years. Paul Benney and John Burgess, the editors of the dance magazine Jockey Slut, started it in Manchester in 1994. It grew up on Friday nights at Sankeys Soap in Ancoats, then moved through Cream in Liverpool and fabric, The End and XOYO in London. These days it fills warehouses: first Printworks, now Drumsheds.
The promoters call 2001 "a watershed year that celebrated salacious, high octane sounds". This is the electroclash era: punk-funk, filtered French house and DJs mashing up everything in sight, often in the same room on the same night.
This line-up brings back a lot of the people who made that noise. Kittin and The Hacker play back to back. 2manydjs, the Dewaele brothers of Soulwax, go back to back with Erol Alkan, a long-time Bugged Out host. French Touch gets its own room. And there's a new generation threaded through it all: Myd, Tatyana Jane, MEERA and Jonjo Jury.
It's a shame Felix Da Housecat has pulled out. He was billed back to back with Heidi, and few people say 2001 louder than he does. His records from that time sit right at the heart of the electroclash sound this whole day is built around, so it'll feel like a gap in the story.

Drumsheds sits in a former IKEA warehouse at Meridian Water in Tottenham. Broadwick Live, the team behind Printworks, opened it in 2023, and it holds around 15,000 people. It still looks like what it was: loading bays, lift shafts and a lot of concrete. It's a long way from the bars we play at home in Donegal.
Bugged Out: 2001&On… is at Drumsheds, 6 Glover Drive, London N18 3HF, on Saturday 10 October 2026, 1pm to 10:30pm. Over 18s only. Details and tickets are on the Drumsheds website.
